Dec 23, 2017 - The M2B102 firmware is now on the U2718Q driver page. For me it was impossible to update the firmware, i'm running a mac. The following files are found inside the driver download file.
This is what I was expecting from LG/Apple 4K 27' HDR. Virtually no bezel.
Decent design. This looks WAY better than the LG 4K, Dell has other 'infinity edge' monitors I've seen, and they look as expected, not something out of 2008. Less vertical resolution than the LG which is a negative, and its bigger at 27' vs 24' No USB-C though which kind of sucks.
It appears to have Mini DisplayPort. So will have to go USBC to Display Port, to Displayport to Mini DisplayPort. I don't see a USBC to Mini DisplayPort cable anywhere. Though I can find decent length USBC to Display Port cable, so won't have to use that goofy dongle Apple made. Hmm something does not seem right.
The DP 1.4 spec has been reported all over the place, but somehow the Dell official website you link is listing it with DP 1.2? I have been researching on 4K monitors and this Dell UP2718Q was one of the options, but I had to dismiss it due to its DisplayPort needing version 1.4 for full 4k 60Hz HDR 10-bit. All Macs without TB3 can only do DP 1.2, where ones with TB3 like MBP 2016/17 and iMac 2017 can only do DP 1.3 via dongle. EDIT: okay I think I know the problem - there are 2 different models, U2718Q which is what OP linked, and another higher model with HDR 10-bit called U P2718Q. Hmm something does not seem right.

Click to expand.I think you can, but not at the full 10-bit color depth, as that would require bandwidth only available in a DP 1.4 stream where no Macs currently are able to produce out of the box (with the exception of eGPU over TB3/2 but even that it sketchy on the OS side). In other words, the UP2718Q when used with a Mac, is not going to be taken full advantage on its 10 bit capability, which is a waste. The U2718Q you linked is a fitter choice,.but., its color gamut is limited to DCi-P3 81% which is much less than the UP version which is at 97%.
I've searched high and low looking for a solution which will work for the 3000cn, as well as any other systems. I'm sure I'm not the only person especially if they own one of these beasts, who also own a PC, and that's where the solution lies. While I've seen a few pseudo work-arounds, where maybe if you setup like 3 different printer queues, you may be able to print color if you're lucky, but in general the images are offset, and you have to work with the source code of one component or another to get it to work. Sounds like a real pain in the butt, and I know, I've been trying to get it to work for months off and on. Then I found a script, written by someone on sourceforge, I would give you his name, but I can't seem to locate it. As long as you have your printer up and running on a PC, that's all you really need, no need to worry about special PPD's, etc, etc.
Although you won't have all the features available to a native driver, I am able to print black and white pages at normal B&W speed, and the color is pretty spiffy itself. With Jaguar and Tiger, you don't need to worry about setting up the LPR daemons on windows, as they support printing to windows printers. That's the link to take you to the page.
Good Luck and let us all know if you're successful. I'm a proud new iMac owner (happily switched!), OS X Tiger, and am attempting to follow Eric's instructions for getting my 3000cn to work.

Download and install the hpijs drivers for MAC OS 2. Download and install the ESP Ghostscript from the same location. Add an LPD printer and select the HP Color Laserjet 5500 foomatic/hpijs as your printermodel I'm at step 3 and when adding an LPD printer it requires that I input an Address ('Enter host name or IP address') and Queue ('Leave blank for default queue'). Can someone please tell me what I should put enter in the Address? Thanks, Eileen. Hi everybody, First, I want to excuse me because my English is not perfect as I write from France.
I followed instructions, and finally succeed printing with my Dell 3000cn and my MacBookPro, but I have a problem, photo quality is bad. It looks like an old HP Deskjet! I selected 600dpi resolution in Word. I wonder where is the problem, printer configuration or driver. The printer is not set into 'draft mode'. Have you got a good quality printing (in color) with your mac?
Thanks a lot, Benjamin.
